How much do you charge per foot to install Vinyl Fencing?

back to Learning Hub Home

Be careful only getting bids per foot! Long ago a wise man taught me that a ft. is only a unit measurement and has very little to do with pricing out how much a job will cost.

QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK:

How much do you charge to remove my old fence and haul it away?

Normal wood fence removals and haul away cost between $3 – $5 a linear foot not including removing concrete footings. The industry standard is to leave the footings in the ground.

How much do you charge to install fencing our a steep grade (hillside)?

Installing fence on a hillside requires more materials because the fence is racked and won’t cover as much ground as it does on the flat ground. It also requires more labor because it is more difficult to install fencing on sloped ground. Fencing installed on the sloped ground would normally increase cost starting at 15% more than standard flat installation.

Does it cost more to do a two color fence?

It shouldn’t in most cases. If there is a difference in price it would be because special colors sometimes have upgrade pricing from manufacturers. Labor is all the same no matter what color.

How much for 6’ high white solid privacy fencing?

Pricing depends upon factors such as sizes of posts, rails, and thickness of the profiles. Most privacy fencing is built with 5” posts and between a 1.5” x 5.5” rail and 2” x 7” rails. Each manufacturer has something a little different. Most manufacturers have a “budget” fence and a “premium” quality. Be careful what you have bid to be able to compare properly. Installed pricing also varies depending on the overall size of the project. A 5’ fence will cost more per foot than a 500’ foot fence per foot. Most 6’ Privacy White fencing in Southern California is installed between $42 and $55 a linear foot including removing of the old fence.

Is it more expensive to buy colored vinyl fencing over white vinyl fencing?

Usually, it is more expensive depending on the manufacturer. Solid colors are less expensive then colors with a wood grain appearance. Colored vinyl fencing usually costs 10 -25% more for materials with the same cost for labor as white fencing.

If you choose the right Company to install your vinyl fencing it should save you a lot of time and assure you that your fence will perform the way it was designed to perform. Don’t choose the wrong company or you might end up paying too much for materials that are inferior and not backed by a reputable manufacturer and an installation company that will be around to service their warranty.
